Penn-Jersey News

Message from Jim Schimmel, Ferrari Club of America Regional Director:

Welcome to the Ferrari Club of America (FCA) website, tailored specifically for our Pennsylvania and New Jersey region members. If you’re not yet an FCA member, you can join us by signing up through this site to gain access to exclusive events and activities. NEW MEMBER APPLICATION HERE

I’m honored to serve as the FCA Penn-Jersey Regional Director, a role I took on in January 2024 after previously serving as the region’s Treasurer. Alongside my fellow Board members, we’ve organized numerous engaging social events to celebrate our shared passion for Ferrari. Most recently, in May 2024, we hosted a spectacular Ferrari-only Concorso at Aronimink Golf Club in Berwyn, PA. The event saw over 200 participants and more than 100 Ferraris on display. A special thanks to Bob Lynch for his exceptional effort in organizing this event.

Looking ahead, we have several exciting events on the horizon, including driving tours and another Ferrari-only Concorso in New Jersey, organized by Walter Sliwa. As an FCA member, you’ll have access to events across the U.S. For example, at the end of June, there will be a track event at Lime Rock in Connecticut, which I, along with a few other members from our region, will attend. Even if you don’t drive your Ferrari on the track, the thrill of watching others and getting close-up access in the pits is an experience you won’t want to miss.

While you can check our website for a list of upcoming events, I must highlight the FCA “Annual Meet” in Elkhart Lake, WI, this September. These Annual Meet events are unparalleled. Having attended previous meets in Arizona and Mt. Tremblant, I can attest to the extraordinary Ferrari experiences they offer. This year, I plan to bring three Ferraris to the Elkhart Lake event: a 458 Challenge Evo for the track, a 512TR to show, and an FF, which my wife Joyce and I will drive from NJ, just as we did for the Mt. Tremblant event in 2022. If you’re interested in shipping a car to Elkhart Lake, please contact me as we are considering hiring a car transporter, which typically accommodates six vehicles.

Organizing these events requires significant effort, and we welcome volunteers who want to be part of the planning process. These events become even more enjoyable as you get to know your fellow members. I also want to recognize my fellow FCA PA-NJ board members for their contributions throughout the year: Rich Scheller, Marc Buzelli, Gary Cohen, Tim McNair, Jake Penny, Walter Sliwa, and Bob Lynch.

Feel free to reach out to me at Schimmel.FCA@gmail.com if you’d like to volunteer or if you have any questions about participating in our region’s events.

Best regards, Jim Schimmel
